GlindaTheGoodWitchGrantsDorothys
WishBeforetheywenttoseeGlinda,however,theyweretakentoaroomoftheCastle,whereDorothywashedherfadbedherhair,andtheLionshookthedustoutofhismane,andtheScarecrowpattedhimselfintohisbestshape,andtheWoodmanpolishedhistinandoiledhisjoints.
Whentheywereallquitepresentabletheyfollowedthesol-diergirlintoabigroomwheretheWitchGlindasatuponathroneofrubies.
Shewasbothbeautifulandyoungtotheireyes.Herhairwasarichredincolorandfellinflowingrisoverhershoulders.Herdressurewhitebuthereyeswereblue,andtheylookedkindlyupolegirl.
"WhatIdoforyou,mychild?"sheasked.
DorothytoldtheWitchallherstory:howthecyehadbroughthertotheLandofOz,howshehadfoundher-panions,andofthewonderfuladveheyhadmetwith.

Glindaleanedforwardandkissedthesweet,upturnedfaceofthelovinglittlegirl.
